How to Clean your Fully Automatic Home Espresso Machine (with pre-ground coffee chute) Using Cafiza® Home Tablets
Clean
When signaled by your machine (or when a cleaning cycle is manually activated according to machine instructions), drop a cleaning tablet into pre-ground coffee chute and place an empty cup under the coffee spout. Press the key (which corresponds to brewing your type of machine) and begin a typical brew cycle. Repeat brew cycle a minimum of 3 additional times (without adding more tablets to the machine), to make sure that you allow the solution to take effect in your machine. Once cycle ends remove coffee unit (if possible) and rinse carefully with fresh water. If coffee unit can not be removed, follow machine manufacturer rinse procedures. *Make sure all coffee grounds are removed from tray and are clean before putting it back into machine. *Before using appliance again, make two additional cups of coffee by pressing the button that corresponds to brewing, without adding any coffee beans and then throw them away (to make sure solution is properly rinsed). *Note: You can also clean the drip tray by placing a Cafiza® Home tablet inside and fill it with water. Let the solution soak for a bit and then be sure to rinse profusely.
How to Clean your Fully Automatic Home Espresso Machine (without pre-ground coffee chute) Using Cleancaf® Brand Cleaner and Descaler
Clean
Dissolve contents of Cleancaf® package into 4 cups of water. Remove coffee dispensing unit and clean with prepared solution. Make sure you let solution soak/take effect (for at least 5-10 minutes).
Rinse
Rinse unit (a few times) with fresh water and put back into the machine. *Note: Be sure to avoid extended submersion of metal parts.
How to Descale your Fully Automatic Home Espresso Machine (with or without chute) Using Dezcal™ Activated Scale Remover
Prepare
Dissolve one ounce (28 grams) of Dezcal™ powder for each 32 ounces (1 L) of water.
Descale
Pour entire contents into water reservoir (fill reservoir until top edge). Run the machine to fill the boiler/pipes with the descaling solution.
Rinse
After descaling your machine, empty the water reservoir and refill with clean water (make sure the fresh water is flushed though the boiler, pipes, etc. to remove scale build up). Once the machine is rinsed thoroughly, make two cups of coffee and throw it away. *Note: The majority of super automatics have digital displays that perform the decalcification program for you automatically. If your machine is like this, please refer to the "descaling or decalcifying" section of your manufacturer's manual and follow the directions creating a solution of Dezcal™ according to manufacturer specifications.
